Summary

Multi Sport Relay Race Spanning the Yakima River from Union Gap to Selah Gap including cycling, running and kayaking.

Description

The Gap2Gap is a relay race that directly supports and highlights recreation on the Yakima Greenway. The race consists of four legs that can be completed solo or as a team. The four legs consist of running, mountain/road cycling and kayaking. Test your endurance while you enjoy all the beautiful scenery that Yakima Greenway and our Valley has to offer.

Your participation helps support our mission of working to conserve, enhance and maintain the Yakima Greenway as a continuing resource for future generations. Thank You!

As this is a race with multiple legs it is important to have your gear ready to go. Due to covid-19 restrictions, there will be no support, or "Pit Crew" as in years past. We will have volunteers at exchanges to help individual racers, but team racers will have to assist each other in the transitions.

KAYAKS:

Kayak drop will only be available the morning of the race this year. Please allow enough time before registration to drop your kayak at Sarg Hubbard Park. The kayak leg will start from a beach behind the park and signage will be in place to assist you to the right drop off point. During the race there will be volunteers assisting you to get in the water. A trailer will be taking kayaks back to Sarg Hubbard Park, but racers will be responsible to have a ride back to the park if participating as a team. Please note the entrance to Century Landing (end of kayak leg) will be an active racecourse for road bikers.

BIKES:

Road bikes can be dropped off as early as 8:00 a.m. on race day at Century Landing on Thorp Rd (see map of course for exact location). There will be an attendant on site to watch bikes. Road bikers will need to stay to a marked lane on the right side of the road and follow course signs throughout the leg.

Mountain Bikes can be dropped off as early as 8:00 a.m. on race day at the exchange on Maple Way (see map of course for exact location). There will be an attendant to watch the bikes. Follow the course signs to Harlan’s landing and the run exchange.

RUN:

Solo racers can leave gear at Harlan’s Landing if they need shoes for the final run section. All others will need to be at Harlan’s landing before their team mate on the mountain bike arrives. Runners will follow a marked course along the Greenway to the finish line at Sarg Hubbard Park.

AFTER:

Awards will be presented at Sarg Hubbard Park once the final participant is through the finish line. We will have food and a beer garden on site. Each participant will get a one food and one drink ticket for after the race.

*Please see main event page to download the course maps prior to June 5th.
